Silly dang bird. I have a Cockatiel named Ace since Valentine’s day 1997. He’s learned a lot of new words over the years and one of the phrases he uses is: Here kitty, kitty, kitty. Got him in trouble once though.

I heard him calling the cats in his usual way, but after about the third time, I heard a terrible racket in the office. I ran back there to see what the heck was taking place and the bird was flying around the room, cage on the floor and two cats standing in guilt with the look of having breakfast on their faces.

Yep, he actually managed to call the cats after all these years and they answered. Ace is very fortunate that I was around to rescue him. If I hadn’t been so scared he was going to get eaten, I’d have laughed about it. The scene was funny as I think about it and knowing he is ok makes it humorous too. You had to be there I guess but I wonder if the bird will think twice before calling the cats again. Probably not. I’ll post a photo of him later on. He’s a cutie and very smart. He waves hi with his little foot as he voices it. He also barks and howls like a dog. He can meow, knock on the door and say come in. AND he says “shut that damn door”. Wonder where he got that from?
